he Loeries is a not-for-profit company, which supports creativity by promoting fresh thinking and innovative ideas across Africa and the Middle East. 

 

Loeries Creative Week brings together the region’s creative minds to recognise the best work from across Africa and the Middle East.

 

A series of virtual and physical events got under way yesterday, Wednesday, 20 October and will run until Saturday, 23 October 2021.

 

Its programme includes seminars by key industry leaders, networking sessions, masterclasses for young creatives and an award show celebrating excellence in the advertising and brand communication industry in the African and Middle Eastern regions. 

 

‘As an official UNESCO City of Design, Cape Town prides itself in being a metropolitan city that encourages design and creativity, while also providing a platform for creatives to showcase their talent. Creative industries play a crucial role in shaping cities and our everyday lives through innovation. As the City of Cape Town, we are proud to collaborate with The Loeries to enable idea sharing, while also celebrating the work of this industry. 

 

‘Hosting a prestigious event such as the Loeries will go a long way in showing the rest of the world that Cape Town is safe and open for business ahead of the busy summer tourism season. This is also an opportunity for our tourism sector to remind international visitors why Cape Town is constantly voted as one of the best tourist destinations in the world,’ said Executive Mayor Alderman Dan Plato.

 

Loeries Creative Week will be hosted at various venues in the city including Salt River, Granger Bay, the V&A Waterfront and Camp’s Bay.   

 

As with all events hosted in Cape Town, safety of all involved remains a priority and Loeries Creative Week will follow all health protocols.

 

The Loeries will require that all those in attendance at the physical events to be fully vaccinated or provide a negative Covid-19 test.
